About

Ethics & Code of Conduct

The commitments we make to clients, to their people and to the systems we leave behind.

Back to About

To our clients

We commit to the following on every engagement, regardless of its size.

  • We will tell you when a project should not proceed, including when that costs us the work.
  • We will not recommend a product we earn anything from.
  • We will state assumptions, risks and costs in writing before you commit.
  • Your data, code and documentation belong to you in full.

To the people affected

Automation changes jobs. We say so plainly at the start, involve the people whose work is changing in designing the replacement, and never present a workforce reduction as an operational detail. Where roles change, we help design the transition rather than leaving it to be discovered.

To the systems we build

Human oversight on any consequential decision. Logging on anything that touches personal or financial data. Documentation good enough for someone else to take over. No system that cannot explain, in plain terms, why it did what it did.

Raising a concern

Anyone, whether client, contractor or member of staff, can raise a concern with us directly and expect a response within five working days. Concerns can be raised confidentially.
